Meeting point at Fiumicino and Ciampino: arrivals hall and name sign
Fiumicino: Terminal 1 or Terminal 3
Fiumicino operates Terminals 1 and 3, and in both the arrivals area with baggage reclaim and exit is on level 0. Domestic and Schengen flights, which usually includes flights from Germany, Austria or Switzerland, generally arrive at Terminal 1. Terminal 3 mainly handles flights from outside the Schengen area and long-haul routes, so you pass through passport control there before reaching the baggage belt. Your chauffeur waits with a name sign in the arrivals hall of your terminal.
Ciampino: Rome’s second airport
Ciampino Airport lies some 15 km south-east of the city centre. Here too, your chauffeur meets you in the arrivals area after baggage reclaim, holding a sign with your name. Please always tell us in your request whether you are landing at Fiumicino or at Ciampino.
Flight tracking from the actual landing
Using the flight number you give us in your request, we follow your flight to Rome. If it lands earlier or later than planned, your chauffeur adjusts accordingly. The 45 minutes of waiting time in the fixed price only start once you have actually landed, leaving you time for passport control and luggage.
Airport transfer in Italy for business: congresses, trade fairs and delegations in Rome
La Nuvola and the EUR district
If you need an airport transfer in Italy for a business trip, AYDEN’s location is Rome, with pickups at Fiumicino and Ciampino. The Roma Convention Center La Nuvola stands in EUR, the office and congress district in the south of the city, approx. 24 km from Fiumicino and about 22 minutes without traffic. Your chauffeur takes you from the terminal straight to the congress, or to your hotel first if you want to check in.
Fiera di Roma
The Fiera di Roma exhibition grounds lie between the airport and the city, only approx. 10 km and about 11 minutes without traffic from Fiumicino. Travelling with a stand team and materials? For up to 17 people, request the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, and we will agree luggage and equipment with you.
Delegations and organisations
Rome is home to the Italian government, many embassies and UN organisations such as the FAO. For delegations, you can request the Business Van with room for 6 passengers and 6 bags, or the Sprinter for groups of up to 17. As your chauffeur speaks Italian, German and English, your guests can be welcomed in their own language. Companies can pay by invoice via bank transfer if they wish.
Destinations in the city: Termini, the historic centre and the Vatican
Roma Termini
Roma Termini is the city’s main station and a hub for long-distance rail, surrounded by numerous hotels. It is approx. 30 km and about 33 minutes without traffic from Fiumicino, and approx. 15 km and about 24 minutes from Ciampino.
Historic centre and Vatican
From Fiumicino it is approx. 27 km to Piazza Venezia and approx. 29 km to St Peter’s Square at the Vatican, each about 29 minutes without traffic. Large parts of the historic centre are a limited traffic zone (ZTL), so please give us the exact address and we will agree the drop-off point with you in advance.
Rome airport: transfer, train or taxi?
Train: Leonardo Express and FL1
From the railway station inside Fiumicino Airport, the Leonardo Express runs non-stop to Roma Termini, according to the airport operator ADR in 32 minutes and every 15 minutes during the day. The FL1 regional line serves other stations in the city, such as Trastevere, Ostiense and Tiburtina. Ciampino has no station of its own, so you continue by bus. With light luggage and a destination near Termini, the train is a good choice.
Taxi at a fixed fare
Official taxis in Rome are white with a roof sign. Under Roma Capitale’s taxi tariff (May 2026), a fixed fare of €55 per vehicle applies from Fiumicino to the historic centre inside the Aurelian Walls, and €40 from Ciampino; from the fifth passenger, €5 per person is added. For destinations outside the walls, such as EUR, the meter usually runs.
AYDEN transfer
Your chauffeur waits with a name sign in the arrivals hall and drives you to your address with no changes. Vehicle class and fixed price are set out in your quote, including for destinations outside the historic centre. If you are travelling with colleagues, with luggage for a trade fair or congress, or on a tight schedule, a transfer is usually the more relaxed option.
