What does a production driver do?
A production driver takes crew, cast and equipment between hotel, base camp and location – on time, discreetly and flexibly. Unlike a taxi, the vehicle is booked for your production, the driver knows the call sheet and waits until it is time to move on.
At AYDEN, only certified chauffeurs with a passenger transport licence drive. If you need a chauffeur by the hour for appointments away from set, read more about our chauffeur service.
Production drivers for film, TV and commercials
Feature film and series
Long shooting days, changing locations, early calls: our drivers know how a set works and make sure actors and crew reach make-up, wardrobe and location on time.
TV productions and shows
For studio recordings, outside shoots and live shows we drive presenters, guests and editorial staff – on several days in a row and at changing times.
Commercials and photo shoots
On a commercial shoot every hour of daylight counts. The driver takes models, agency and client between locations and waits nearby instead of being booked again each time.
Book production drivers flexibly – from one shooting day to a whole season
Early for the call, late after wrap
Single rides can be booked around the clock – early in the morning from the hotel to set or late at night after a long shooting day. For whole shooting days we plan drivers and vehicles around your call sheet.
For one shooting day or several weeks
Book production drivers for a single shooting day, a shooting week or a whole production. Short notice is possible subject to availability; the earlier you enquire, the more reliably we can plan.
One contact for production management
When the call sheet changes, the location manager or production office talks directly to our team – no call centre. We adjust times and vehicles and brief the drivers.
Vehicles for production drivers
For actors, directors and VIPs there are First Class saloons such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the Business Class. Crew and equipment travel in the Business Van, the Mercedes-Benz V-Class for up to 6 people; for larger teams, the Sprinter for up to 17 people is available on request.
The van has room for camera, sound and lighting cases; heavy equipment stays in your production’s technical vehicles. You will find every class with passengers and luggage in our vehicle fleet.
Discretion and safety with production drivers
Confidential content stays in the vehicle
Whatever is said in the vehicle about the script, the cast or locations stays there. On request, we sign a non-disclosure agreement for your production.
Data protection under the GDPR
We use crew lists, phone numbers and hotel addresses only for your production’s rides and handle them in line with the General Data Protection Regulation.
Trained, certified drivers
All drivers hold a passenger transport licence, are trained and drive with foresight – even after long shooting days and on unfamiliar roads to the location.
Production drivers at fourteen locations and across Europe
AYDEN production drivers are available at fourteen locations: Munich, Augsburg, Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart, Vienna, Salzburg, Mallorca, Paris, Amsterdam and Rome. For shoots in several places we plan the rides across locations.
Long distances are possible too, for example from Munich to Berlin after wrap – around 585 km door to door. Read more about our city-to-city transfer.
