The airport lies in Schwechat, south-east of the city (Terminals 1, 1A and 3). Good to know for business trips in Vienna

Since March 2022 a city-wide short-stay parking zone applies across Vienna: Monday to Friday 9 am to 10 pm, maximum stay 2 hours (different rules on shopping streets).

Vienna is planning camera-based access control for the Innere Stadt; the legal basis has applied since May 2026, but according to ADAC the launch is not expected before 2028. Exemptions are planned for residents, deliveries and taxis, among others.

According to ASFINAG, the A23 Südosttangente is Austria's busiest road with around 230,000 vehicles a day – at peak times trips between the airport and the city take longer.
