VIECON by the Prater
VIECON – Vienna Congress & Convention Center, formerly Messe Wien – is in Leopoldstadt between the Prater and the Krieau. According to the operator, it has four halls (A to D) totalling around 55,000 m² plus its own congress centre.
Foyer A and Foyer D
Foyer A on Messeplatz is at the Messe-Prater U2 station; according to the operator it has a taxi rank and usually leads to Halls A and B. Foyer D on Trabrennstrasse is at the Krieau U2 station and usually serves Halls C and D. We match the drop-off point to your hall plan.
Congress Center at VIECON
According to the operator, VIECON has its own connected congress centre, so congresses with an accompanying exhibition can be combined with the trade fair shuttle. For congresses elsewhere in the city, there is our event shuttle in Vienna.
Airport trade fair shuttle: from Vienna Airport to VIECON
Vienna Airport (VIE)
From the airport in Schwechat it is approx. 19 km to VIECON, about 21 minutes without traffic. By airport bus, the operator allows around 30 minutes to Foyer D. On request, the chauffeur picks your team up at the terminal and drives non-stop to the right foyer.
Vienna central station
From the central station (Hauptbahnhof) it is approx. 7 km to VIECON, about 13 minutes without traffic. If your team arrives by Railjet, we can pick them up at the station on request.
If your team travels on to another city after the fair, our city-to-city transfer from Vienna takes care of it.
Hotel and fair: journey times from the Prater, Donau City and the Innere Stadt
Prater and Leopoldstadt
Hotels around the Prater are within walking distance of VIECON; here the shuttle mainly carries luggage, material and team members with early set-up times.
Donau City and Kaisermühlen
From Donau City across the Danube it is approx. 5 km to VIECON, about 10 minutes without traffic.
Innere Stadt and the Ringstrasse
From the Innere Stadt it is approx. 4 km, about 11 minutes without traffic.
Example: a stand team of 20
If a stand team of 20 is staying in Vienna’s Innere Stadt, on paper one Sprinter and one Business Van cover them in a single run, without bulky luggage. Each vehicle needs about 11 minutes each way for the approx. 4 km without traffic, so a second run with the same vehicles – for later stand staff, for example – would be possible after about 22 minutes at the earliest. Trade fairs in Vienna: Buch Wien, Ferien-Messe and more at VIECON
VIECON hosts Buch Wien and the Ferien-Messe Wien (both every year), and in 2026 trade fairs such as Enlit Europe and Network X also came to VIECON. During major fairs, hotels around the Prater book up early – a shuttle plan with several pick-up points keeps the fair day predictable.
Coaches and parking
According to the operator, coaches can use the Messe-Prater 3 car park with a clearance of up to 5 m; car park A is limited to 2 m. Set-up and dismantling times are set by each organiser – we plan the rides around them.
