Congresses: Austria Center, Hofburg and VIECON

The Austria Center Vienna is in Donau City in the 22nd district, approx. 23 km from the airport, about 22 minutes without traffic. The Hofburg Vienna and its conference centre are on Heldenplatz in the city centre, and VIECON – Vienna Congress & Convention Center, called Messe Wien until 2024, is at the Prater in the 2nd district.

Arenas and event venues

The Wiener Stadthalle in the 15th district is approx. 6 km from the central station, and the Ernst Happel Stadium in the Prater approx. 19 km from the airport. The Marx Halle in Neu Marx, a historic hall for trade fairs, corporate events and concerts, is only approx. 4 km from the central station.

How your guests arrive: Vienna Airport and the central station

Vienna International Airport

The airport lies in Schwechat, south-east of the city, approx. 20 km from the central station (about 19 minutes without traffic). All arriving passengers come out into the central arrivals hall in Terminal 3 on level 0.

If guests arrive by Railjet, the chauffeur picks them up at the central station on request. From there it is approx. 4 km to the Hofburg and approx. 7 km to VIECON at the Prater.

Vienna for event guests: short-stay parking, the Südosttangente and Neu Marx

Short-stay parking zone across Vienna

Since March 2022 a short-stay parking zone has applied across the whole of Vienna, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 10 pm, with a maximum stay of 2 hours. So we agree in advance where the chauffeur waits during your event.

The A23 Südosttangente

According to ASFINAG, the A23 is Austria’s busiest road with around 230,000 vehicles a day; at peak times, trips between the airport and the city take longer. We allow for this before a congress begins.

Neu Marx and the Marx Halle

The Marx Halle is in the Neu Marx urban development area in the 3rd district, together with Media Quarter Marx and the Vienna Biocenter. From the airport it is approx. 18 km, about 17 minutes without traffic; anyone with meetings in town beforehand can book our Vienna chauffeur service.

If congress guests stay in several hotels along the Ringstrasse, we plan gathering points and departure times so that everyone is in the hall in time for the opening.
