Trade fair shuttle service in Munich: grounds, entrances and the ICM
Messe München in Riem
Messe München is in Messestadt Riem in the east of the city, on the A94 motorway and the U2 underground line. According to the trade fair company, the grounds have 18 halls with around 200,000 m² of exhibition space. The ICM – International Congress Center Messe München – is connected directly to the halls at the West Entrance.
West Entrance and East Entrance
The West Entrance is next to the ICM and the Messestadt West underground stop; the East Entrance is at the Messestadt Ost stop and the East car park. Which entrances are open depends on the fair, so we match the drop-off point to your hall plan.
Drop-off on fair days
On fair days, access to the entrances is restricted, and the trade fair company asks drivers to follow the traffic guidance system instead of entering a fixed address. According to Messe München, shuttle buses can use free waiting areas on the grounds for up to 30 minutes; we check in advance whether and where your vehicle may stop.
Airport trade fair shuttle: from Munich Airport to the fair
Munich Airport (MUC)
Munich Airport and Messe München are approx. 46 km apart, about 32 minutes without traffic. At the airport, the chauffeur waits with a name sign in the arrivals hall of Terminal 1 or 2; we monitor the flight, and with the airport transfer, 45 minutes of waiting time from landing are included in the fixed price. By S-Bahn and underground, the trade fair company allows 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the route.
Munich central station
From the central station (Hauptbahnhof) it is approx. 12 km to the fair, about 17 minutes without traffic. If your team arrives by train, we can pick them up at the station on request and time the departure to the train’s arrival.
If your team travels on to another city after the fair, our city-to-city transfer from Munich takes care of it.

Messestadt Riem
From Messestadt Riem it is only approx. 2 km to the grounds, about 6 minutes without traffic – handy for set-up and early shifts.
City centre and central station
From the city centre it is approx. 12 km, about 17 minutes without traffic. In the morning and at closing time, we build in more buffer here.
Airport hotels
If you stay at the airport, it is approx. 46 km to Riem, about 32 minutes without traffic.
Example: a stand team of 20
If a stand team of 20 is staying in Munich city centre, on paper one Sprinter and one Business Van cover them in a single run, without bulky luggage. Each vehicle needs about 17 minutes each way for the approx. 12 km without traffic, so a second run with the same vehicles – for later stand staff, for example – would be possible after about 34 minutes at the earliest. We check availability when you send your request.
Trade fairs in Munich: bauma, Expo Real, IAA MOBILITY and more
Messe München hosts bauma (every three years), Expo Real (every year), IAA MOBILITY and electronica (every two years each), as well as BAU, automatica, productronica, INHORGENTA and the International Crafts Fair (IHM). During major fairs, hotels and vehicles in Munich are booked up early, so request your trade fair shuttle as early as possible.
