Hannover exhibition grounds: entrances, Convention Center and access
One site in three areas
According to hannover.de, the exhibition grounds in the south of the city have 24 halls and pavilions with 392,453 m² of exhibition space and 58,000 m² of open-air space, divided into the West, Centre and East areas. A team in Hall 13 at entrance West 1 gets out at a different spot from one in the East area – which is why we ask for hall and stand number in advance.
North, West and East
Entrances North 1 and North 2 are at the Messe/Nord light rail stop (line 8), entrance East 3 at Messe/Ost (line 6). From Hannover Messe/Laatzen station the covered Skywalk leads about 400 m to entrance West 1. For the shuttle, what matters most is which drop-off is open to cars and minibuses on the day.
Convention Center at the heart
The Convention Center sits in the middle of the grounds and has 35 rooms and halls for 10 to 1,300 people. If you have a congress or press appointment there alongside the fair, we plan the pick-up on the right side of the site.
Fairs on the grounds
According to the city, HANNOVER MESSE is scheduled for 5 to 8 April 2027. Other trade fairs on the grounds include Agritechnica, EuroTier, LIGNA, EMO Hannover, IAA TRANSPORTATION and DOMOTEX; each organiser publishes its own dates.
From Hannover Airport (HAJ) to the fair
Pick-up in the arrivals hall
With your flight number we track the landing. The chauffeur waits with a name sign in the arrivals hall, and 45 minutes of waiting time from actual landing are included – even if the baggage belt takes longer.
Route via the A2
From the airport in Langenhagen it is about 21 km to the North entrance, about 23 minutes without traffic; back to the terminal we allow about 27 minutes. On the last show day we plan the return by departure time, not by closing time.
Without a shuttle
By public transport, visitors take the S-Bahn to the main station in 17 minutes and change there to the light rail to the fair. With suitcases, roll-ups and stand material, the direct ride in a Business Van is usually the calmer choice.
Hotels in Hannover and the region: drive times to the fair
City centre and main station
From the main station it is about 8 km to the fair, about 10 minutes without traffic; from the Hannover Congress Centrum about 6 km. From Laatzen, right next to the grounds, the shuttle needs about 8 minutes.
Hildesheim, Peine and Celle
If your team stays outside the city, the distances are manageable: from Hildesheim main station it is about 28 km and about 20 minutes without traffic, from Peine about 29 minutes, from Celle old town about 40 minutes.
Braunschweig, Wolfsburg and Hameln
From Braunschweig we allow about 46 minutes, from Wolfsburg main station about 59 and from Hameln about 54 minutes – each without traffic. For these routes the shuttle leaves earlier so the team is at the stand before doors open.
Worked example: 20 people from Hildesheim
A team of 20 without bulky luggage fits into one Sprinter and one Business Van. At about 20 minutes each way without traffic, the same vehicles could collect a second group after roughly 40 minutes at the earliest. We check whether a Sprinter and vans are free on your show days when you send your request.
The fair week step by step: build-up, show days, evening, dismantling
Build-up
Before the fair opens we take stand builders and team leads with tools and material to the build-up times, often earlier than the later admission.
Show days
In the morning one fixed departure per hotel, in the evening back after closing. In between, one vehicle runs on call, for example for clients who want to go straight from the airport to the stand.
Evening events
After the show day we drive to client evenings in the city, to the HCC or to a restaurant, and later back to the hotel – by guest list and time.
Dismantling and departure
On the last day we split the team: some go to the airport or main station by flight or train time, the rest keep one vehicle until dismantling is finished.
Arriving via Hamburg, Berlin or Bremen
Hamburg
From Hamburg Airport it is about 177 km to the fair, just under two hours without traffic via the A7; from central Hamburg about 160 km and about 103 minutes. If your team lands in Hamburg, it reaches the stand without changing – with our city-to-city transfer from Hamburg.
Berlin and Bremen
From Berlin-Mitte it is about 284 km and just under three hours without traffic via the A2, from Bremen main station about 137 km and about 83 minutes. The ride from Berlin has its own page: City-to-city transfer from Berlin.
Event shuttle and chauffeur service in Hannover
Beyond the fair
AYDEN does not only drive to the fair in Hannover: for corporate events, congresses at the HCC with its four event halls and around 13,000 seats, or client evenings we provide event shuttles, and for appointments in the city a chauffeur per ride or by the hour. How an event shuttle works is explained in our event shuttle overview.
For the board and guests
If the board travels to the fair, it rides separately from the team on request, in a First or Business Class sedan – with an executive chauffeur, discreet and, on request, the same chauffeur over several days.
